Money Shot - Book Synopsis
by Brian Rouff
Alan “Nick” Nichols is living the Great Las Vegas Dream. An executive at Las Vegas’s biggest advertising agency, he has a fine home and family. Just as midlife rumblings of discontent are beginning to settle in, Nick suddenly hits the jackpot. Not in the lottery or at a slot machine, but by buying a Bigg Fizz soda with the winning bottle cap in a million-dollar basketball challenge.
Now Nick has four weeks to prepare for a life changing three-point shot during halftime at the NCAA regional finals in Phoenix. If he nails it, he goes home with a cool mil.
But in Las Vegas, sometimes it’s hard to tell good luck from bad.
Nick quits his job, dumps his cell phone, hires a coach, and rides the roller coaster of fame, stress, and unintended consequences. Finally, the big day arrives. He steps up to the three-point line…and that’s when things get really weird.
Money Shot, Brian Rouff’s second Las Vegas novel, firmly establishes him as one of the keenest observers of life in Sin City. Rouff is destined to do for southern Nevada what Carl Hiaasen has done for southern Florida.
Dice Angel - Book Synopsis
by Brian Rouff
Jimmy Delaney is on another bad roll. His ex-wife is cranky. A homeless guy keeps scaring the hell out of him. Burglars clean out all the coins from the video poker machines at his Las Vegas saloon, Jimmy D’s. His accountant is missing – with all the bar’s money. He can’t get a loan because the IRS has a lien on the joint and a rogue revenue agent with a personal grudge is seizing the bar on Friday unless Delaney can come up with $50,000 in back taxes.
Losing streaks in Las Vegas can be the worst in the world.
And then a mysterious woman enters his life. A karma-spouting planet-charting colon-cleansing floozy – the Dice Angel. Can Delaney save Jimmy D’s with a supernaturally hot hand at the Luxor crap tables? Or does Lady Luck bite off, chew up, and spit out another Las Vegas loser?
