Question 1 How do I activate my membership if I deleted the confirmation email?
You have to wait 48 hours for your account to be deleted from our database. Then you can re-register for a new membership. When you receive your confirmation email you must activate your membership before gaining access to our members' area.

Question 2 Can I access my email account from my internet browser?
Yes. You can access your email through a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc. To do so, visit www.yourdomainname.com/webmail and login in using the secure login interface. The login interface uses the following protocol: - Email = youremailaddress@yourdomainname.com (substituting 'youremailaddress' for your personal email account name and 'yourdomainname' for your website address). - Password = passwords should be unique and only known by the account user. Additional instructions for resetting a password or editing user account details can be found in the FAQ's section of our support center.

Question 3 Does a news server come with our email? If so, how would we access it?

AMI Studios does not offer integrated news servers with our web hosting or email solutions, however here are some resources that may be helpful if you are interested in this type of service.

Here are some resources that might be of interest to you.

** These two will start an automatic download that will enable you to view the list of newsgroups through your outlook express.

news://post.usenet.com

news://freenews.netfront.net

If these don't have what you're interested in, maybe you can try the following (these groups are web based and don't require any downloads.)

http://www.google.com/grphp?hl=en&tab=wg&q=

http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/

If you still can't find what you're looking for from one of these resources, I would try searching your favorite search engine for the following terms:

newsgroups
news servers
nttp servers
nttp://

Question 4 How do I change my password for my email account?

To reset a password or change user details - login to your website user interface.

You can access the user interface for your website at www.yourdomainname.com/user

The login protocol for your admin interface is the following:

- Login = type in your email account (don't use @yourdomain.com)
- Domain = the domain name of your website (don't use http:// or www. in the domain)
- Password = the password for your user account is the same as the current password for your email account.
- Make sure to check your spelling and be sure that all characters are lower case.

** After accessing the users admin panel navigate to "User Information" using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen. - Next press the "Edit" button located at the bottom of the "User information" section. This will take you to an area with editable fields for your Full Name and Password. - Enter your new password in the appropriate field and re-enter it again to confirm. - Last press the "Save" button to activate your changes. ***NOTE - Be sure you update your outlook or other third party mail browser with your new password. Otherwise you will be unable to download your emails to your desktop.

Question 5 How do I configure my ftp client to upload files to my hosting account?
One of the most common mistakes that FTP client users make is entering the USER NAME or USER ACCOUNT incorrectly.

Some servers require the full path of the user name, such as user@yourdomain.com and others require only the user name itself, without the domain name.

Another common mistake by FTP client users is entering the SERVER NAME or SERVER incorrectly.

Some servers require the ip address others require merely the domain name that the hosting account is registered under. Depending on which FTP softare you use, will determine the correct format to enter the ip address or domain name.

The following links are provided for your convenience to assist you in better familiarizing yourself with the FTP client of your choice. Tutorials offer configuration and proper use instructions.
